The University of Florida is committed to providing faculty and staff with resources, policies, and processes to meet the accessibility needs of its students and staff as required by the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. Please find the information here as a first step to solving common accessibility problems in a variety of areas.
The university's Center for Instructional Technology & Training offers a free training course in Canvas that provides eight modules that cover how online components can present problems for learners with vision, hearing, cogintive, or motor impairments. Please visit Accessible Online Environments to complete the training.
At the University of Florida we strive to ensure that all employees - current and prospective - receive reasonable accommodations so they can be productive and enjoy the benefits of employment.
All current employees with disabilities that require accommodations are asked to voluntarily register with the ADA Compliance Office to ensure that appropriate accommodations are provided. To register, complete the Reasonable Accommodation Based on Disability Request Form. More information about the form can be found on the Environmental Health & Safety site. For additional assistance or questions, contact the UF ADA Compliance Office.
For prospective employees with disabilities that require accommodations during the interview process, please notify the appropriate department. If there are any questions, do not hesitate to contact the UF ADA Compliance Office.
