Closed Captioning Services

The University of Florida provides closed captioning services for students with accessibility needs. Please follow the process below in order to ensure your needs are met.

Step 1: 
Contact the DRC by calling 352.392.8565 to schedule an appointment with a staff member in person, on the phone, or via Skype.
Step 2:
Obtain the appropriate medical documentation before scheduling an appointment with the Disability Resource Center (DRC). Step 3: After meeting with DRC, the student should request an accommodation letter each term via the DRC then provide to instructors/TAs-teaching assistants.

Step 4:
The DRC will contact the Assistant Director of Online Accessibility at the Distance and Continuing Education Department (DCE) to discuss captioning needs for online courses.Step 5: 
Students must notify the DRC of any course or syllabus changes where their captioning needs may need to be modified.Step 6:
DCE will notify the DRC when captioning of modules and courses are completed.
